How much does it cost to run a sauna?

The cost of running a sauna depends on its wattage and how long you use it. Our saunas typically range from 2kW to 10kW. On average, running a sauna for an hour can cost between £0.50 and £2.50. Please refer to the electricity cost calculator for more information.

What warranties do you carry on the saunas?

Our warranty term is 1 year for electric parts and 2 years for wooden parts.

Are the saunas easy to assemble or install?

All our saunas come with detailed assembly instructions. Saunas are assembled using buckles and clamps with some screwing involved. Infrared saunas can usually plug into a standard UK outlet, while traditional steam saunas typically require connection to the mains by a qualified electrician.

How hot does the sauna get?

Traditional steam saunas can typically be set between 18 and 99 degrees Celsius with timer settings from 0 to 90 minutes. Infrared saunas generally reach a maximum temperature of around 65 degrees Celsius.

When is the right time to add water to the sauna stones?

Only add water once the sauna stones have reached the appropriate temperature. This ensures proper vaporisation and creates the ideal steam environment.

Why should I not add water before the stones are hot?

Adding water to cold or warm stones can produce weak steam and may damage the heating elements or stones over time, reducing the lifespan of the heater.

How can I tell if the stones are hot enough?

The stones should feel intensely hot when your hand is brought near them without touching. Many sauna heaters also include a temperature gauge. Wait until the gauge reads at least 300°F before adding water.

What type of water should I use?

Use clean distilled water where possible. Tap water with high mineral content can cause buildup on the stones and heater over time and may affect performance.

Are there any precautions needed such as anti-mould treatment?

If the sauna is placed in a very humid area, try to keep it dry. Otherwise, no special precautions are typically required.

What size cable is needed for the power supply?

For 3000W saunas, at least a 2.5mm power input cable is typically required. For 4500W saunas, at least a 4mm power input cable is recommended. Always confirm with a qualified electrician.

Is an RCD needed for a steam sauna?

Yes, RCD protection from the consumer unit is typically required. Please consult a qualified electrician for confirmation.

Is the sauna delivered assembled?

No. The sauna is delivered flat packed and disassembled. Assembly is straightforward using the supplied instructions, videos, or 3D manual.

How long does it take to heat up?

At an ambient temperature of around 10 degrees Celsius, the sauna typically takes about 15 minutes to reach 50 degrees Celsius and around 30 minutes to reach 70 degrees Celsius.

Does the outside timber get hot and is it safe to touch?

The exterior timber becomes only slightly warm during use and is generally safe to touch.

Can the outside be painted?

Yes. The exterior of the sauna can be painted using a suitable wood paint or finish if desired.

What type of wood is used?

The sauna is constructed using Canadian hemlock timber.

What is the oxygen ionizer and what does it cost?

The oxygen ionizer is a negative ion generator. Please contact us for current pricing.

Do I need tourmaline stones and what do they cost?

Tourmaline stones are generally not recommended for EU countries and are most commonly used in Korea and Japan.

Does the mobile app system cost extra?

No. The control panel already includes mobile app functionality where applicable.
